What happens when a Physics Major from the University of Chicago (who misspent her youth reading comic books and working in an astrophysics lab) decides to start a children’s clothing line? You get BoBo Brooklyn, that’s what. BoBo Brooklyn Corp., is composed of two players. Jennifer K. Bounds (She is the CEO and Creative Director of the company) and Twan V. Bounds, Esq., (General Counsel and Vice-president). Jennifer K. Bounds, developed BoBo Brooklyn to be an alternative to traditional children’s clothing and to bring the character of the Brooklyn streets, where she raises her two children, to the world. Thus, during the early and sleep deprived days of her son’s life, Jennifer developed a line of clothing which reflects her sense of humor, political wit, retro appeal, and the bohemian aspects of modern day Brooklyn, New York. The name, BoBo Brooklyn, is derived from a series of events that followed the birth of her son Boden Bounds. Boden developed the nickname “BoBo” by taking the first two letters of his first and last names. Soon thereafter, BoBo had a meltdown during his first visit to the Brooklyn Museum of Art. He was lured back to a relative calm while gazing at the stunning masks of the BoBo culture of Africa, and the name of the line took shape. BoBo Brooklyn represents Boden as well as the multicultural, artistic and bohemian values of Brooklyn and challenges children to spark their imagination, and harness their energy to unite the children of the world. The choices we make every day matter. As a parent, Jennifer wants to help leave a green world for her children and the children of the world. Thus, Jennifer takes great care to ensure that sustainable and organic materials are used in the production of BoBo Brooklyn clothing to help in that effort. So, there you have it. Mother’s love started BoBo Brooklyn, passion to make a better world keeps it running. Jennifer K. Bounds BoBo Brooklyn, Making Heroes daily. Contact Us 917.573.9749 |
